RECREATIONAL CLUBS

Rayburn Country is home to many recreational clubs bringing friendship and entertainment to our community.  Listed below are the clubs that are currently offered.

Rayburn Bloomers Garden Club

The garden club meets the second Thursday of the month's September to May.  It is federated with The National Council of State Garden Clubs, Inc. and the Texas Garden Club Inc.  Each month there is a different program with a guest speaker and planned trips to nearby trails and The Big Thicket.

Rayburn Country Ladies Auxiliary

The Ladies Auxiliary meets the fourth Thursday of the month's September to April.  Each month there is a luncheon and program at the club for the members and one evening program that allows the spouses to join.

Golf Associations

Men's League - Plays every Wednesday at 9 a. m. in the summer and 10 a. m. in the winter.  Meetings are held periodically.  Annual Membership dues are $25.00.

Women's League - Plays every Tuesday at 9 a. m. in the summer and winter.  Meetings are held every other month starting in January.  Annual Membership dues are $20.00.

Card Games

Each Wednesday there is a informal group that meets at the club to play bridge and enjoy a lunch.  Two groups are active, one for beginners, and one for the more experienced bridge player.  Bridge lessons are offered from January until April.

Texas Hold-Em poker tournaments are held the 1st and 3rd Tuesday night at the club.  This event requires that players be a members.  Please contact Rayburn Country for more details.

Crafts

The crafts group meets at one of the members home on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month.  Everything from bird houses, wine bottle holders and decorations for the clubhouse are made.  All it takes is a suggestion to be made, and the club is off and running. 

Book Club

For those who like to read and discuss books the book club meets on the 3rd Thursday of every month at 10:00 a.m. at the clubhouse.

Water Aerobics

These fun filled classes meet three times a week from May to September at the club pool.  Classes begin at 8:30 a.m. (weather permitting) and are taught by a resident of Rayburn Country.  A great way to exercise for those who prefer a low impact exercise.

Bunco

Day and Night groups play this exciting game.

Rayburn Country Resort is located in the Lakes area of the Piney Woods of East Texas on the Southeast corner of Lake Sam Rayburn in Jasper County. Rayburn Country Resort operates a championship 27 hole golf course, clubhouse, lodge, seasonal pool, tennis courts, basketball courts, and sports core. Rayburn Country property owners enjoy access to the seasonal pool; sports core, tennis courts, basketball courts. Clubhouse and golfing memberships are available to property owners as well as non property owners. Mulligan’s Grill in the clubhouse is open to the general public, as well as the Sunday Buffet at the clubhouse. Bar memberships are also available. The pro shop located in the clubhouse is stocked with golfing apparel and Rayburn Country Resort apparel. Rayburn Country has meeting facilities available in the clubhouse or Rayburn Hall for family reunions, weddings, banquets, and business conferences. Rayburn Lodge provides accommodations at a value price with electric hookups for boats. World class bass fishing or great water fun is just a short drive to one of the many Corps of Engineer boat ramps located close by on Lake Sam Rayburn.
