EXPERIENCE BOATING ON
LAKE SAM RAYBURN

Lake Sam Rayburn is a great recreation lake.  Pontoons to bass boats, and everything in between.  A great place to renew friendships!  Beautiful sunrises to sunsets, Lake Sam Rayburn is awesome.

Construction on Lake Sam Rayburn started in the mid 1950’s with impounding started in the mid 1960’s creating the largest lake within the State of Texas.  Lake Sam Rayburn, or “Big Sam” is intended for flood control on the Angelina River as well as power generation.  Big Sam has grown into a world class bass fishing lake, with numerous tournaments held on the lake every year.  Recreational boating has also flourished on Big Sam’s expansive 114,000 acres of water, so whether you have a power boat, sail boat, personal watercraft, house boat, party barge, canoe or kayak Lake Sam Rayburn has room for you!  Summer time activities include water skiing or tubing as well as watching the participants show their skills on the skis, wake boards and tubes, and the occasional entertainment event of losing ones balance.  With the all natural shoreline, there are numerous beaches on the lake, and some are reachable only by water.  Three major rivers are close to Lake Sam Rayburn, the Angelina that is impounded by Lake Sam Rayburn, the Neches to the West, and the Sabine to the East.  Rayburn Country, and Rayburn Country Resort are located at the Southeast corner of Lake Sam Rayburn with several boat ramps close for convenient launch of your boat.  We look forward to your visit, and checking out Big Sam!

Sunsets are worth a thousand words.  Enjoy Rayburn Country and lake with special ones in your life.  Jet ski's having fun  Lake Rayburn has lots of room.  Ending the day in Rayburn Country.

Try your skill at wakeboarding!  Practice improves your skill!  Up, up and away!  What comes up must go down.  How far can you spray the water?

Several beaches are around the lake.  Some islands also dot the lake.  Sunset on the beach.  Running back to the boat ramp.

Wishing the day was not ending!
